Is There Too Much Information Available?

In the past, life was much simpler, but in today's technologically charged world, we are constantly bombarded with information overload. True, there are some really important and good details existing, and on the flip side of that coin, there, too, is trash. It is enough to break anyone down to feel lesser of him or her self because of what is out there. Our spirits are strong, but our bodies are weak.

Thus, as an information scientist I'm constantly dealing with the junk inclusive of spam, pages of advertisements, terrible design aesthetics, and epileptic seizure producing websites. It is horrible with all the detrimental particulars that are out there, from pornographic material to extremism in any field. In regard to these fields and sub-fields, everyone seems to have a cause to exceedingly support. Thank goodness for filtering programs and parental controls. We try our best to protect those that we love.

Another problem with so much data getting 'ground out' every day is security. On the Internet, there is a war going on between good and evil, as in life. Malevolent hackers are continually fighting the knowledge and training of white hat hackers with viruses, worms, Trojans, malware, and other malicious software. Newly compromising applications and programs can easily clear out secure databases of personal statistics and finances with the click of a mouse from one unsuspecting administrator, which can spread like wildfire sometimes. Those that are given the greater authority and responsibilities sometimes create the greatest risks.

In the bigger picture, we have to look at all of this and know that there, too, is a lot of good and honest data available. It includes educational and skill-building software as well as problem-solving detailed programs for benefiting our world and mankind. Both art and science have merged into three-dimensional modeling with added depth and visualization techniques. The human brain is one of the most significant and important functioning organisms in the universe. The mind is the final frontier and not space.

I tend to look at all of this information with an optimistically balanced-brain viewpoint. There is an ingrained knowledge and understanding of whom is going to win this war overall in the end. It is a life we all try to achieve for the common good or in respect of the golden rule. People either base their thoughts and actions from religious or scientific beliefs thus bringing conflicts between themselves.
